Terms of Service

Welcome to Royal Empire Children's Books. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of https://kids.royalempire.shop, including its digital stories, membership features, Parent Corner articles, account tools, and related services.

Royal Empire Children's Books is owned and operated by Royal Empire Lifestyle, LLC, referred to in these Terms as "Royal Empire," "we," "us," or "our."

By accessing or using the website, creating an account, or purchasing a membership, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Adult Accounts and Parental Supervision

Accounts and paid memberships may be created and managed only by adults who are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.

Royal Empire Children's Books is designed for families and children, but children do not create or control accounts. A parent, legal guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult must supervise a child's use of the service.

By creating an account, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• The account information you provide is accurate.
• You are responsible for all activity occurring through your account.
• You will supervise children who access the service through your account.
• You will not encourage a child to submit personal information through the platform.

2. The Service

Royal Empire Children's Books provides access to original digital children's stories, character information, family and neighborhood content, Parent Corner articles, reflection prompts, Crown Talk discussions, and related educational or family resources.

The exact content and features available may change over time.

We may add, update, remove, reorganize, or discontinue stories, articles, features, collections, or other content when reasonably necessary to improve, maintain, secure, or develop the service.

3. Free Access

Royal Empire may provide free guest access to selected content, including the first six introductory books featuring The Core Six and a limited number of Parent Corner articles.

Free content:

• May be accessed without a paid membership.
• May change or be reorganized over time.
• Does not provide access to all current or future content.
• May require an adult-controlled account if account features such as favorites or saved progress are used.

Free access does not create a permanent right to any particular feature beyond the rights expressly granted under these Terms.

4. Paid Memberships

Royal Empire may offer monthly and annual paid memberships, including:

• Founding Membership
• Standard Membership
• Other membership plans introduced in the future

Paid membership benefits may include:

• Unlimited access to eligible digital stories
• Access to members-only Parent Corner articles
• Access to newly released membership content
• Reading progress and favorites
• Other features identified on the membership page

Membership benefits apply only while the subscription remains active and in good standing.

5. Founding Membership

Founding Membership is a limited introductory offer available only to the number of customers or during the period stated on the website.

A Founding Member's price remains locked only while the subscription remains continuously active and successfully paid.

The Founding price may be permanently lost if:

• The customer cancels the subscription.
• The subscription expires.
• Payment repeatedly fails.
• The subscription is terminated for nonpayment.
• Royal Empire terminates the account for violation of these Terms.
• The customer later attempts to resubscribe after the original subscription ended.

A former Founding Member who returns must select from the membership prices then available.

Founding Membership status and pricing cannot be transferred, sold, assigned, shared with another household, or restored after cancellation unless Royal Empire expressly agrees in writing.

6. Billing and Automatic Renewal

Paid memberships are processed through Stripe.

By purchasing a membership, you authorize Stripe and Royal Empire to charge the payment method you provide for the selected monthly or annual membership price, plus any applicable taxes.

Unless canceled before the next renewal date:

• Monthly memberships automatically renew each month.
• Annual memberships automatically renew each year.

Your renewal date is based on the date your paid subscription begins unless otherwise shown during checkout.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining a valid payment method.
• Reviewing the membership price and billing interval before purchase.
• Updating billing information when necessary.
• Canceling before renewal if you do not want another charge.

Royal Empire does not store your complete payment-card number. Payment information is handled by Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy practices.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your paid membership through the account or subscription-management tools provided through the website or Stripe Customer Portal.

Unless otherwise stated during cancellation:

• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
• You retain access until that paid period expires.
• You will not be charged for the next billing period.
• Cancellation does not automatically create a refund.

Stripe supports configuring subscriptions to remain active through the end of the period already paid for.

Additional refund and cancellation terms are explained in the separate Refund and Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, Royal Empire or Stripe may attempt to process the payment again.

During a failed-payment period, Royal Empire may:

• Limit or suspend paid access.
• Request an updated payment method.
• Send payment reminders.
• Cancel the subscription after unsuccessful payment attempts.

Failure to pay may result in the loss of Founding Membership pricing.

9. Limited Household License

Your membership provides a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, and revocable license to access Royal Empire Children's Books content for private household or personally supervised educational reading.

Unless Royal Empire provides written permission, you may not:

• Share your account outside your household.
• Sell or transfer account access.
• Publicly display paid content to an unrestricted audience.
• Charge others to access the stories.
• Use a personal membership as a school-wide, library-wide, daycare-wide, or commercial license.
• Provide paid stories to an organization through one personal account.

Separate educator, school, library, organizational, or commercial licenses may be offered later.

10. Intellectual Property

All stories, characters, character names, illustrations, covers, graphics, logos, designs, written content, Crown Talk materials, Parent Corner articles, trademarks, collection names, website design elements, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Royal Empire Lifestyle, LLC.

This includes, without limitation:

• Royal Empire Children's Books
• RE Children's Books
• Royal Empire Kids
• The Core Six
• Crown Hill
• Associated characters, families, locations, stories, artwork, and branding

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not, without written permission:

• Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or resell stories or illustrations.
• Download content unless a download feature is expressly provided.
• Record the books for public distribution.
• Create or publish unauthorized read-aloud videos.
• Screenshot, screen-record, or photograph substantial portions for redistribution.
• Upload the content to social media, file-sharing platforms, artificial-intelligence training systems, public drives, or third-party websites.
• Remove copyright, trademark, watermark, or ownership notices.
• Create derivative products, merchandise, stories, illustrations, or commercial materials using Royal Empire characters or content.
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract platform content.
• Attempt to bypass paid membership controls.
• Reverse engineer, interfere with, damage, or disrupt the website.
• Use the service for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
• Share login credentials with people outside your household.
• Pretend to be another person or misrepresent your identity.

Limited screenshots of a cover or approved promotional page may be shared only when allowed by Royal Empire and only for lawful, noncommercial discussion or promotion.

12. Account Security

You are responsible for protecting your password and account access.

You agree to notify us promptly if you suspect:

• Unauthorized account access
• Payment fraud
• Credential sharing
• A compromised password
• Misuse of your membership

Royal Empire is not responsible for losses caused by your failure to secure your account, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

13. Account Suspension or Termination

Royal Empire may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraud or suspected fraud
• Unauthorized copying or redistribution
• Account sharing outside the household
• Charge abuse
• Harassment or misuse of support services
• Security threats
• Repeated failed payments
• Legal or regulatory requirements

Termination for a Terms violation may result in immediate loss of access and loss of Founding pricing.

14. Parent Corner and Educational Information

Stories, Crown Talk materials, articles, and other resources are provided for general educational, informational, and family-discussion purposes.

They are not substitutes for:

• Medical advice
• Mental-health treatment
• Psychological evaluation
• Legal advice
• Educational diagnosis
• Professional counseling
• Emergency assistance

Parents and guardians remain responsible for deciding whether content is appropriate for their children and circumstances.

15. Third-Party Services

The platform may rely on third-party providers for services such as:

• Payment processing
• Account authentication
• Database hosting
• Website hosting
• Email delivery
• Security
• Performance monitoring
• Necessary analytics

Your use of certain features may also be subject to those providers' terms and privacy practices.

Royal Empire is not responsible for a third-party service's independent conduct, except to the extent required by law.

16. Availability and Technical Changes

We aim to provide reliable access but do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available on every device.

Access may be temporarily affected by:

• Maintenance
• Updates
• Internet outages
• Hosting interruptions
• Security incidents
• Device compatibility
• Third-party service failures
• Events beyond our reasonable control

We may modify technical requirements or supported devices when reasonably necessary.

17. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available."

Royal Empire does not guarantee:

• That every child will respond to the content in the same way.
• That use of the platform will produce a particular educational, emotional, or developmental result.
• That all content will remain available indefinitely.
• That the service will be free from every interruption or technical error.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Royal Empire Lifestyle, LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, Royal Empire's total liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Royal Empire for the membership during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

19. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Royal Empire Lifestyle, LLC from claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your unlawful use of the service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your infringement of another party's rights.
• Unauthorized use of your account caused by your failure to secure it.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute will be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Georgia unless applicable law requires otherwise.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in:

• The service
• Memberships
• Technology
• Business practices
• Legal or regulatory requirements

The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.

Your continued use of the service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms, except where additional consent is legally required.
